Always Alert

Despite my adorable sleeping positions, I am always alert.  If a cat’s foot falls, I will hear it.  If mum turns in her chair or stretches so much as a finger, I will hear it.  If there is extensive rustling of the trees outside of the window, I will hear it.

I may or may not decide it’s important enough to actually move, or get up from my nice, cozy resting position.  Especially if there is no food or admiration involved.  Luckily I do have one ear that’s slightly off-kilter which seems to help me hear even more from ever more unusual sleeping positions.  Very helpful.
