I Smell Bambi

I Smell Bambi

Special Night-Aire-O-Vision captured me seeing – and smelling – something for the first time.  Something so… musky, so earthy, so potentially delicious.  The wind gently carried the scent to my waiting nose, and set my senses on fire.  I could feel my fuzz standing straight up, and my tail did that thing it does where it stands up straight with just the tiniest curl at the end, quivering gently.  The breeze rustled through my beard, only capturing more of the luscious smell, the dampness of the evening only heightening it’s power over me.

And then I saw them.

Five deer.  Two babies and three adult females.  Looking at me, as if to both tempt and taunt me, their eyes saying, “Hey, big boy”, and their body language saying, “Let’s get the hell out of here”.  I was entranced.  And then, I was excited.

They were damn lucky that they had chosen a spot behind a chain link fence or I might have happily pulled mama’s arm out of it’s socket, leash attached, dragging her behind me as I chased ’em down the full length of Schenley Oval.

Next time.

Love,

Otto Fizz
